Mid Century Modern 1945-1970

The end of the second world war brought about a new energy. From materials to designs, there was a modern idealism that made the world feel bright, optimistic and infinite. Suburban sprawl gave birth to tract housing where ranch, modern and split level homes were erected. Interior design was clean and airy with an emphasis on space and materials rather than history and ornamentation. The past 10 years has brought about a strong renewal of Mid Century modern furniture, lighting and design. Flush mounts, wall sconces and table lamps were just as popular then as they are now. We have a wide variety of mid century lighting including handcrafted chandeliers, wall sconces and table lamps from our Modern Vintage Collection.
