Antique Late 1880s early 1900s Converted Gas Portable Lamp with Original Japanned Copper FInish and Opal Swirl Shade

Before the advent of electric table lamps we had gas portable lamps. These interesting lights were attached to ceiling or wall lights via a gas hose which then fed into the back. Here we have a nice original 1880s early 1890s one with an original Japanned Copper finish fitted onto an original granite base. Stunning period opal swirl gas shade tops it off. Great piece of history.
