Incredible late 1880s Aesthetic Movement Converted Gas Newel Post Light with Stunning Deep Acid Etched Opalescent Shade

It's hard to pick favourites but this is certainly one of them. One of the rarest gas newel posts we have ever had! Dates from the late 1880s early 1890s and has exaggerated aesthetic movement details such as the corkscrew finial, floral and acanthus filigree and serpentine detail on the center of the stem. Attributed to either C.H. McKenney Company of Boston or Thackera of Philadelphia. The shade is a peice of glass to behold as it is has a lovely blue opal colour with a deep acid etched floral and sparrow motif. The finish is all original and it was converted to electricity in the early 1900s. We have since rewired it and it is ready for use as a newel post or as a table lamp.
