Antique Late 1880s Early Electric Gas Style Hoop with Acid Etched Eastlake Cylinder Shade

This a unique piece of lighting history. It has all the appearance of a gas light from the 1880s but in actuality was a very early electric fixture. We discovered this when we tried to open up the gas center body and realized it was all solid without any valve mechanism. They often used the gas light form to make electric fixtures rather than designing new fixtures. The center post to the shade is original and holds a bulb. Just love the deep acid etched shade with sparrows and original crown top.  Restored, wired and CSA approved.
