Edwardian Lighting Era 1895 – 1925

The invention of electricity ushered in a new era of enlightenment and style. With the influence of Georgian and Neo Classical details, designs became more eclectic and centered around using electricity as a catalyst for design. Arms and glass shades could be positioned downwards or on an angle, which was not possible with gas lighting. The era also saw the rise of table and floor lamps which often featured unique fabric and paneled glass lamp shades suitable for decorative or functional light. Edwardian lighting is the perfect marriage of styles and designs which features fine glass, metal work and castings. We have a large range of pan lighting from the era along with antique wall sconces, table lamps, panel lamps, floor lamps and period antique glass shades.
