Antique Late 1880s early 1900s Converted Gas Portable Lamp with Original Japanned Copper FInish and Acid Etched Floral Shade

Before the advent of electric table lamps we had gas portable lamps. These interesting lights were attached to ceiling or wall lights via a gas hose which then fed into the back. Here we have a nice original 1880s early 1890s one with an original Japanned Copper finish fitted onto an original granite base. The acid etched floral patterned shade is a period original and the light has been electrified for modern use. Great piece of history.
